Cockpit is designed with the ultimate goal to identify the needs of the customer and the business and to process those needs in the developed product.
The Cockpit platform is a validated environment for product development. For this, the Cockpit Validation Kit is available, which allows companies to demonstrate the validation of the Cockpit Platform against GAMP 5 and AAMI TIR36-2007.
Saas Solution Available
The Synergio SaaS solution offers multiple options, depending on your needs. Access can be restricted to read-only, which is perfect for those who want to view the information, but do not want to edit it. Synergio also offers individual and team access options for those who need to work directly in Cockpit.
Rich Text Editor
Cockpit provides a rich text editor. Users can format text, insert images, link to other applications, and create complex tables.
Cockpit allocation matrices provide teams with an easy way to relate requirements to product decompositions, whether they are requirements, specifications, user needs, etc. Matrices are also available to quickly establish relationships between different levels of requirements.
Cockpit supports the creation of libraries and configurable libraries can be reused for multiple projects. Categories of libraries include: Requirements from laws and regulations, Hazards, Harms, test protocols and requirements reuse.
With the review feature in Cockpit, teams can view documents in real-time. This feature enables markup, commenting, and deletion suggestions within a document or section. Both formal and informal assessments are provided and can be configured according to the needs of the team.
The Cockpit Platform supports reuse of all types of data, including requiments, “hazards”, risks and design components. Cockpit allows the user to create libraries with requirements from laws and regulations or their own organization, libraries with “harms” with predefined severity, and design of modules or components that can be used in multiple system configurations. Teams can reuse items “as is” or reuse the items with variations. Cockpit tracks and reports variations on reused items. It also supports product line engineering and allows users to reuse requirements and at the same time change their details based on the requirement configuration data. The platform allows systems engineers to create derivative design projects that are initially a copy of a previous design. Cockpit then follows all variants of the original design in the derived design. All these possibilities for reuse enable systems engineers to quickly create new robust products by re-using the knowledge from previous designs. This allows Cockpit users to market their products faster and maintain high quality.
Cockpit provides a table of contents to easily navigate via a hierarchy to manage organizations, product lines, and projects.
Users, user groups, roles, and permissions
Cockpit allows organizations to create multiple users and user groups. All users and groups are subject to Cockpit’s extensive authorization model, which enables administrators to set read and write privileges for all aspects of Cockpit. This is done by using roles. Administrators can create role-based workflows that can be reused in all projects. Example roles are: Quality Manager, Regulatory Consultant, Manufacturing Engineer, Lead Design Engineer, Project Manager, Project Approver, Approver, Reviewer and Owner.
Cockpit supports full LDAP functionality, allowing login from multiple servers on one Cockpit domain.
Part 11 Compliance
Cockpit supports 21 CFR Part 11 subsection C regarding strong passwords and password expiration. Cockpit also enables full configuration of login attempts and locking settings.
Configurable management features
Cockpit enables company-specific object types for all items within the platform (e.g. requirements, risks, tests, etc.). Other configuration options include risk scoring, requirements scoring, and test result management.
Do you already have a Word or Excel document containing your requirements? The Cockpit Platform provides out-of-box capabilities to import data directly from Word, Excel (including CSV) and XML files.
Lifecycles and Workflow
Cockpit provides comprehensive, configurable workflow capabilities that allow companies to tailor the platform to their current internal process. Teams can define workflows, lifecycles, and roles at the item level (risks, requirements, etc.), document and project level.
Cockpit includes full version control. Define project baselines and show differences between versions. More granular item-level versioning is available so that users can view changes to individual items through versions.
The Cockpit Platform offers extensive difference analysis functionalities for documents, as well as differences for all items (requirements, risks, tests, documents, projects, etc.). Differences reports are available for all objects with version history.
In Cockpit, full audit trails are available for all objects, from individual items such as requirements or risks, documents, sections of documents etc. All changes are tracked and provide evidence in the event of an audit.
Orphan Requirements Report
The Cockpit Platform generates reports to easily identify orphan requirements during each phase of product development. This report shows those requirements with missing traces, where teams are supported to assign parent items.
The Cockpit Platform provides a number of tools to perform impact analysis on an object. The built-in dashboard and graphical tracing capabilities allow users to see which other objects are affected by the change, enabling faster response.
The Cockpit Platform provides a ready-to-go dashboard for an overview of an object and its traces. Each Dashboard object contains other information, including parent and child objects, as well as any attachments or action items associated with it.
House of Quality Reporting
The Cockpit Platform provides House of Quality/QFD reports to ensure that the customer’s desired product is designed. These reports can be exported to PDF for a more formal review outside the platform.
END USER FEATURES
The Cockpit Platform provides multiple export options to distribute information. Documents and reports can be exported to PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and XML.
Cockpit’s unique multi-views allow teams to define multiple views for the same set of data. Teams can run multiple activities within the same window, so no more time is lost to navigate to other places to accomplish a task. For example, a Requirements document might have a view to assign tests to technical requirements.
Notifications and emails within the platform
The Cockpit Platform offers many external and internal ways to keep users informed. Configurable workflows allow teams to send notifications based on specific events. These notifications can be messages in Cockpit, emails to user (s) or both. Outside the workflow, Cockpit also offers the possibility to email items directly to others. The recipient gets a link that brings him directly to the object, document or project in question.
